2025 marks the 18th anniversary of The English Distillery. In 2005, our founder James Nelstrop decided to make a life-long dream a reality, and submitted a planning application for England's first whisky distillery in over 100 years. Two years later the distillery was officially opened by His Majesty King Charles III (formerly HRH The Prince of Wales).

In 2024 we were awarded our most prestigious accolade to date, winning the 'World's Best Single Malt' for The English Sherry Cask Matured.
